Paul’s career in wealth management has been shaped by his passion and interest in both baseball and finance. After graduating from Sam Houston State University with a Business Degree, Paul joined the Philadelphia Phillies organization as a pitcher in their Minor League System. After a short stint in the Minor Leagues, Paul’s love for the game of baseball led him to accept a scouting job with the Detroit Tigers. His 17 year career in baseball included with two baseball clubs, the Tigers followed by the Anaheim Angels. During his career in scouting, Paul was instrumental in signing players such as John Lackey, John Smoltz, Jim Abbott, Darren Erstad, and Mike Henneman. Returning to his love of finance, Paul decided to start a new chapter in his life in 2000 becoming a Financial Advisor with the firm of Smith Barney. He would spend the next 10 years at Smith Barney navigating his clients through some very trying times. Paul will tell you that getting his clients through the 2008 financial crisis and seeing them come out wealthier on the other side is one of his biggest accomplishments as a financial advisor.
In 2010, following the financial crisis of 2008 and the changes in the financial industry, Paul made the decision to move his work and his clients to a new firm in Fort Worth. Baird provided an opportunity for Paul to return to a work culture that matched his core values and the foundation for strong financial services and capabilities. Paul has been at Baird ever since! He loves coming to work every day and plans to work for many more years.
Paul lives near downtown Fort Worth with his wife Mary. They love to travel and spend time with their ever-growing family. Paul currently has 3 grandkids and would love to have more! When Paul is not with his family or at the office, you can find him enjoying a round of golf, on the Peloton Bike, or spending time with his many friends.
