Athletes

We have a passion for all sports and our background in baseball has provided us the foundation to give athletes a top notch level of service. Not a lot of advisers understand the career of an athlete, but we do. Eddie, Paul’s father and Andrew’s grandad, played 13 years in the major leagues and was the highest paid player in the league at that time while playing for the New York Yankees. Paul played in college and had a quick stint in the minors, and Andrew also played college ball.

Paul wanted to use his business degree and his background in baseball as a platform to help athletes make good financial decisions. In 2000, he joined Smith Barney as a Financial Adviser and since that time has helped athletes in the MLB, NFL, and MLS manage their financial life. In 2013, Andrew joined Paul and together they have continued to expand their business.

Our experience enables us to provide wealth management solutions that are customized to the needs of athletes. It is our mission to use our knowledge and proven strategy to help athletes avoid common financial traps and get on the path to financial independence. We can all name several professional athletes who have filed for bankruptcy protection and our goal is to never let this happen to one of our clients. We have developed a few guidelines to help protect athletes from making mistakes that will destroy their wealth. Every athlete that walks through our door will be coached on Seven Rules, including the concept of Checks and Balances (see charts below) and they are expected to follow these rules if they decide to become a client.
