 What is a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?

 A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable investment account where a donor contributes cash, stocks, or other assets with a sponsoring organization.  The contribution is tax deductible and the funds are invested tax-free.  The donor then advises the sponsoring organization on how to distribute funds going forward to qualified charities of the donor’s preference.
